The View Working On ‘Different’ Third LP

The View are moving in a new direction as they put the finishing touches to their third studio album, according to bass player Kieren Webster.

In an interview with Scotland’s Daily Record newspaper, Webster revealed the Dundee-based band are preparing ‘bigger’ sounding songs than those featured on their first two LPs. “This album is different and sounds big,” he enthused. “It has elements of the first and second albums in it. It has funky guitar and pop led tunes on it and a couple of things you wouldn’t expect.”

The new album will be the follow-up to 2009’s ‘Which Bitch?‘, which struggled to continue the success enjoyed by the group on their 2007 debut ‘Hats Off To The Buskers‘. Later in the interview, Webster also spoke of the role being played by their new producer Youth, who has previously worked with the likes of Primal Scream and The Verve. “Youth is producing it,” he said. “He is a great producer. He’s really cool and it was a great experience working with him. Every producer is going to have a different sound and he came up with some good ideas.”

The new album is due for release before the end of the year.
