Kasabian frontman Tom Meighan has revealed he expects former Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher to join the band for a series of cameo appearances during their upcoming UK tour. The dates would be the first public appearances by Noel since he walked out on Oasis in August after a dressing room bust-up with brother Liam Gallagher.

Speaking in yesterday’s edition of the News Of The World, Meighan said: “We’ve got our arena tour in November. Noel will be calling us up nearer the time for sure saying, ‘Lads, I’m going to come perform with you on tour’. He’s a performing machine, and loves playing live so he jumps at the opportunity whenever he can join us.”

Meighan also said he would welcome Noel into the studio to record with Kasabian: “We’d love to do a track with him,” he said. “Never say never, but at the moment he’s concentrating on his solo stuff and we’re busy as ever.”

The news echoes the recent decision by Smiths legend Johnny Marr to join The Cribs as a fully fledged member after initially playing a series of live dates with the band. However, with Noel reportedly looking to launch a solo career, it is unlikely the hook-up would become permanent.

Kasabian play the following dates:

Newcastle Metro Radio Arena (November 10)
Aberdeen AECC (11)
Glasgow SECC (12)
London Wembley Arena (14, 15)
Liverpool Echo Arena (16)
Nottingham Trent FM Arena (18)
Birmingham NIA (19)
Manchester MEN (20)
Cardiff International Arena (22)
Sheffield Arena (23)
