HAIM are back with a new single entitled Summer Girl, co-produced by Rostam Batmanglij and Ariel Rechtshaid.
The track, premiered in the UK on BBC Radio 1 as Annie Mac’s Hottest Record In The World, was first played live during a gig in Los Angeles last month, and has a video too directed by HAIM’s longtime collaborator Paul Thomas Anderson. “I started the song when I found out my partner had cancer,” Danielle Haim has said.
“I was on tour and felt like I was trying to send positive energy his way almost telepathically. Whenever I would come home in between shows I wanted to be his sunshine – his summer when he was feeling dark. His hope when he was feeling hopeless.”
It brings new music from HAIM after the release of the sisters’ second studio album Something To Tell You in July 2017.
