Morrissey will release his first novel next month.

According to a statement, List Of The Lost will be out on paperback in the UK, Ireland, Australia, India, New Zealand and South Africa on a date which is to be rubber stamped very soon. It comes after Morrissey’s memoirs, simply entitled Autobiography, caused a stir in October 2013.

While Penguin are still on board for his literary work, the singer remains in search of an outlet for his music as a consequence of him leaving Harvest Records shortly after the release of ‘World Peace Is None Of Your Business‘ last year.

He recently told fansite True To You that there has been ‘zero label interest’ – ‘a sad sign of the times’ according to the former Smiths man, and during an interview with the Spanish newspaper El Pais, he went further:

“I recently contacted some labels and all have rejected me. Pop music lives in the era of marketing which just leads to people with very low levels of competition, it is much easier to get rid of them once six months of fame have evaporated.”
