Happyness are one busy Indie trio already planning their fall tour schedule with a flurry of European live dates confirmed for September. After taking in appearances at this month’s Great Escape Festival, they decamp to the US for the summer before returning to Europe for a week of shows, as well as Reeperbahn Festival in Hamburg.
The band recently sat down with us at our media lounge at SXSW and had these thoughts on the music industry:
“There’s a lot to say for the industry becoming obsessed by this image of a young band being super good at their instruments and signing up these really young guys who hadn’t quite formed the idea what they really wanted to do or wanted to achieve.”
The band are currently out pushing their new double A-side single release; long-time fan favourites ‘Montreal Rock Band Somewhere’ / ‘It’s On You’, Both tracks appear on the newly re-issued debut album ‘Weird Little Birthday’ (our review), available now on Moshi Moshi Records but you can stream and download them for free below.
