Can’t Keep Checking My Phone‘ offers a taste of the follow-up to 2013’s brilliant ‘II‘. “It felt good to be rebelling against the typical view of what an artists is today, a curator,” Ruban Nielson has said of its recording.

“It’s more about being someone who makes things happen in concrete ways. Building old synthesizers and bringing them back to life, creating sounds that aren’t quite like anyone else’s. I think that’s much more subversive.”

Unknown Mortal Orchestra will be in the UK for a short run of dates just a few days before their new album’s release, ending with an appearance at Liverpool Sound City on May 23rd.

They then concentrate on European shows and a long North American stretch throughout June before returning to the UK for another four gigs in September.
