Super Furry Animals have added a headline spot at the Green Man Festival to their surprise 2015 live return.
The band, set to start a comeback tour of the UK with three nights at Cardiff University in May, will top Green Man on Saturday, August 22nd. Other new additions include Television, Slowdive, Jamie xx, Public Service Broadcasting, Temples and Marika Hackman.
Super Furry Animals’ return supports the reissue of their 2000 album ‘Mwng‘ on May 1st; frontman Gruff Rhys has told NME though that the first gigs in six years are unlikely to lead to a brand new studio album.
“It’s all been a bit last minute so these gigs we’ve got booked are all we’re doing for now that we know,” he said. “Everyone’s busy with other stuff. We all have very different lives and it would be difficult to recreate the intensity without being in the studio for 12 months at a time.”
