Andy Fraser, who co-wrote Free‘s classic rock single ‘All Right Now‘, has died in California at the age of 62.

Fraser passed away on Monday (March 16th) according to a statement released to ultimateclassicrock.com. An official cause of death hasn’t been given.

“Andrew McLan Fraser passed away on Monday at his home in California,” the statement reads. “He leaves behind his daughters Hannah and Jasmine Fraser, and their mother Ri, his sister Gail, brothers Gavin and Alex, and many friends and associates in the industry.”

Fraser was just 15 when Free played their first gig in 1968. He penned ‘All Right Now’ with singer Paul Rodgers and released the single to inevitable worldwide success in the early seventies.

He left Free not too long after and formed Sharks, releasing debut album ‘First Water‘ in 1973.
