Blur guitarist Graham Coxon is unsure of the future direction of the band as they ready the release of new album ‘The Magic Whip‘.

Since first returning for live shows in 2009, the four bandmates have been back and forth about their plans but put years of speculation to bed earlier this month by finally confirming a first studio album since 2003.

However, when speaking to Uncut, Coxon was unsure as to whether the new LP will lead to more studio work, or whether it could signal their last studio visit as a band.

“I view it as a great big positive punctuation mark,” he said. “I don’t know whether it’s the full stop at the end of a book or whether it’s a full stop at the end of a chapter. I don’t think any of us know that yet.”

“That doesn’t mean any of us are going to stop making music. Music is a constant with us. Damon will make music whether it’s with Blur or doing other things, he’ll always be meandering along making music.”

‘The Magic Whip’ is released next month but has already been previewed with ‘Go Out‘, ‘Lonesome Street‘ and ‘There Are Too Many Of Us‘.
