They might have been snubbed by the Brits – a conspiracy if you ask them – but Kasabian were able to bring a touch of rock and roll to the BAFTA Awards last night (February 8th) which were held at the Royal Opera House in London.

The band aired a string-backed version of their ‘48:13‘ track ‘Stevie‘ to an audience packed with Hollywood stars and other famous faces such as David Beckham and Noel Gallagher. Check out the performance below.

Serge Pizzorno, dressed on the night in a white t-shirt which read ‘Black Tie’, shrugged off Kasabian’s Brits blow last week, and instead spoke of his honour at being picked to open the biggest night in British cinema.

“It’s a huge honour to open the BAFTAS because we’re all such great film fans,” he said. “It’ll be a strange old show playing in front of a load of penguins, but it’s going to be great. We’re going to start the night off with a huge explosion. We’re going to play everything twice as loud. Half the people there won’t have a clue what is going on.”
