The final shortlist for the 2014 UK Festival Awards has been unveiled, and big hitters from the summer such as the Arctic Monkeys, Metallica and Arcade Fire are leading the way.

Of those, Metallica and Arcade Fire are up for Headline Performance Of The Year along with Glastonbury’s other main act from last June, Kasabian, while Arctic Monkeys are nominated for their performance at Reading & Leeds. The Sheffield band are the current holders of the prize having won last year for their own Glastonbury show. Also, their track ‘R U Mine?‘ is up for Anthem Of The Summer.

Unsurprisingly, Glastonbury itself is in with a shot of the Best Major Festival gong, as all the other events you’d expect to see in that category are, while Live4ever favourites Augustines have received a mention in the Best Breakthrough section.

“The response to this year’s awards, not only from fans, but also from more festivals applying to take part than ever before, has been exceptional this year – a positive sign that industry confidence, backed by public passion is surging in 2014,” UK Festival Awards founder Steve Jenner reflects. “It sets the tone for an extra special celebration at The Roundhouse in a few weeks’ time.”

The winners will be announced during a ceremony at the London Roundhouse on December 1st.
