Playland‘, the successor to Johnny Marr‘s maiden solo LP ‘The Messenger‘, can now be previewed in full on Spotify before you’re able to permanently get hold of it from October 6th. Scroll down for the prize.

“When The Messenger came out, I kept on writing,” Marr has previously said in a statement. “I liked that the band had a momentum going on tour and a connection with the audience, and I thought that energy would be good to capture on the new record.”

And of the recording process, which took place in London with James Doviak, he told NME: “It was deliberate to work in London. Where you work definitely affects how it sounds and seeps into the music, and I’ve developed a really good feeling for London in the past couple of years, I like the frenetic atmosphere.”

From November 9th and a date at Washington DC’s 9:30 Club, Marr will be spending most of the rest of 2014 on the touring trail in North America.
