Royal Blood‘s stellar year could be cemented on Sunday (August 31st) with a number one album in the UK at the first time of asking, that’s if midweek sales hold up during the coming days.
The official chart update has the duo’s self-titled debut album ahead of Ariana Grande‘s ‘My Everything‘, with Ed Sheeran‘s lingering ‘x‘ a further place back.
Royal Blood started 2014 as just about the only guitar-based act to receive any industry recognition on the usual new year hype lists, but have since taken their time in finalising a maiden studio effort whilst drip-feeding a succession of impressive singles.
