Row erupts over Jabberwocky Festival refunds after cancellation

Organisers of the Jabberwocky Festival and one of its primary ticket vendors Dash Tickets appear to be at loggerheads today over who is responsible for refunds after the event was cancelled earlier this week, citing financial problems.

Writing on Facebook, those behind Jabberwocky told ticket holders that, ‘For the vast majority of people, Dash Tickets will be their point of purchase. It is their responsibility to refund the customer, as they were the company that took payments; not ATP’.

However, in response Dash has quickly released its own statement claiming all money received by the company from ticket sales has already been returned to Jabberwocky since it was pulled, and that they would like to, ‘Learn where the money has gone’.

“Our trust in ATP seems to have been misplaced, as their emails to fans and customers today concerning refunds have become deliberately misleading,” the statement continues.

“It is for this reason that we feel compelled to make it clear that Dash has given to ATP all funds that Dash received for ticket sales to Jabberwocky. In addition to giving ATP all the ticketing funds, Dash has made substantial advances to ATP which remain unpaid, as do considerable fees for the work we have undertaken on their behalf.”

The ATP-led Jabberwocky Festival was due to host acts such as Neutral Milk Hotel (pic) and James Blake this weekend but, despite ticket sales being described as ‘healthy’, organisers said they were not prepared to cover losses any longer.
