T In The Park organiser dreaming of The Smiths, David Bowie as future headliners

smithssqThe 2014 T In The Park festival kicks off today (July 11th), and its organiser Geoff Ellis has been discussing who would be his dream headliners in the future.

“If the Smiths would reform that would be ideal,” he told XFM. “Definitely for me personally but for a lot of people as well, it would be fantastic to see them back together.”

“David Bowie, we had him and then he had his heart problems and hasn’t played live since, so that’s a real shame. The offer’s still open to him any time that he feels like able to play live again then he’s more than welcome to come back.”

This year’s event will be the last to be held at Baldo – T In The Park’s home since 1997. Biffy Clyro top the main stage tonight, with Calvin Harris and Arctic Monkeys following during the course of the weekend. Heading the second, Radio 1 Stage are Steve Angello, Elbow and Disclosure.
