Beck has continued the life-span of his 2014 album ‘Morning Phase‘ with an official video for ‘Heart Is a Drum‘ – have a watch on Live4ever right here.

‘Morning Phase’ was described as a ‘companion piece of sorts’ to Beck’s 2002 LP ‘Sea Change‘ when it was released back in February, and contains ‘Waking Light‘ and ‘Blackbird Chain‘ which were recorded in Nashville with Jack White. Justin Meldal-Johnsen, Joey Waronker, Smokey Hormel, Roger Joseph Manning Jr. and Jason Falkner all reprised their ‘Sea Change’ roles.

“It’s not heavy-handed, but it’s in there,” Beck has said of the LP’s running theme, which deals with the mindset of early morning. “There’s this feeling of tumult and uncertainty, getting through that long, dark night of the soul – whatever you want to call it. These songs were about coming out of that – how things do get better.”

Meanwhile, ‘Song Reader‘ – Beck’s one time sheet-music-only project – received a proper, tangible release yesterday (July 28th).
