Johnny Marr has announced an October tour of the UK in anticipation of the release of a second solo album, which is expected around a month earlier.
The Engine Shed in Lincoln hosts the opening night on October 13th, with more shows in Southend, Bexhill and Wolverhampton following before a visit to Wales for a gig at the Great Hall in Cardiff on October 18th.
There’s a concert in Scotland at the Glasgow Academy on October 27th, while a gig in Leeds on the 29th marks the final night of the tour.
Offering an update on his new LP to NME earlier this year, Marr said: “I’ve got a new record coming out in the end of September, the follow-up to last year’s.”
“I wanted to do the second one really quick. For me, it was just about being on tour and wanting to capture the spirit of the band and the audience before it wears off. I’d been touring for 11 months so I wanted to keep that same energy. I didn’t want to overthink it.”
