Suede have climbed on board the Forestry Commission’s annual Forest Live concert series, and will perform two such shows in June.

The likes of Paul Weller and popstar Jessie J have already announced their participation in the special gigs, while James Blunt is another new addition.

Money from the raised series goes towards initiatives aimed at improving woodland for people and wildlife, and Suede are due to perform at Thetford Forest on June 13th and later Westonbirt Arboretum on June 21st.

The band’s frontman Brett Anderson told NME they are planning on recording new material this year with a view to releasing another studio LP in 2015 as their reunion becomes an ever more permanent fixture.

“We want to carry on writing and pushing forward, so we’re taking it somewhere else now,” he revealed to NME. “I think it’ll be out next year, as we’re just writing at the moment so realistically it will be next year.”
