Elbow have outlined the details of the first single to be taken from their upcoming sixth studio album ‘The Take Off and Landing Of Everything‘ after a video for ‘Fly Boy Blue / Lunette‘ was posted online last week.
‘New York Morning‘ is set for its first UK radio play on the morning of Friday, January 24th and will then be available to download from January 27th ahead of the full album release on March 10th.
The single’s title is a crystal clear reference to the impact which New York City had on Guy Garvey‘s songwriting and lyrical input while he stayed there for six weeks last year – as he told Q not long ago:
“Walking around New York I feel like my antennae are up. My ears are open for snatches of beautiful conversation. In Manhattan, it just feels like all the time, any second, somebody’s going to utter that thing that changes the world.”
