Nirvana, Peter Gabriel and Cat Stevens will lead the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame inductees for 2014, reports Rolling Stone.

Artists and bands become eligible for the Hall Of Fame from the time of the 25th anniversary of their first release, meaning Nirvana will be honoured at pretty much the earliest opportunity while Kiss, Hall & Oates and Linda Ronstadt are also set to be inducted at a ceremony next April. The announcement signals another year in which Deep Purple have missed out on the final cut.

Managers Brian Epstein and Andrew Loog Oldham – who helmed and shaped the early careers of The Beatles and The Rolling Stones respectively – will receive the Ahmet Ertegun Award for non-performers. Bruce Springsteen‘s E Street Band, meanwhile, is to be given the Award for Musical Excellence.

Brooklyn’s Barclays Center will host the ceremony on April 10th, 2014. For the first time, tickets are being offered to the general public and go onsale next month.
