Arcade Fire have invited the Pixies to be their guests at an outdoor gig in Ireland next year.
The Canadian band will bring their trans-Atlantic number one album ‘Reflektor‘ to Dublin’s Marlay Park on June 29th 2014, just after previously announced shows at London’s Earls Court venue earlier that month.
Last week, Arcade Fire also added new dates to their long stretch of North American headline gigs, which are due to begin next March and carry on intermittently through to August.
Pixies, meanwhile, should be in Dublin with their new bass player Paz Lenchatin who has just filled the void left by Kim Shattuck. The group confirmed their intention to have Lenchatin with them throughout next year, with drummer Dave Lovering commenting:
“We are really looking forward to playing with her on these dates. Working with different bass players is very new for the band, but we’re having a great time doing it.”
