Band Of Skulls will return with their third album ‘Himalayan‘ early next year, the group have revealed.

The trio have been hard at work in the studio with producer Nick Launay – who counts the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Arcade Fire and Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds amongst his past clientèle – and will release the fruits of those labours in the spring of next year through Electric Blues Recordings. First single ‘Asleep At The Wheel’ is out on January 5th and can be sampled below.

The band promise to showcase new material at a headline show at London’s Bloomsbury Ballroom on 20th November after the completion of a European tour with Queens Of The Stone Age.

‘Himalayan’ follows the 2011 LP ‘Sweet Sour‘, which was one of Live4ever’s essential releases of that year. “The old school notion of a ‘radio rock record’ has become a steadily disintegrating concept in today’s era of digital downloads and lo-fi laptop recordings, and it’s unfortunate because that is exactly what Band Of Skulls have created here: a polished and accessible second offering from a group that made a point to rise to an occasion they could have just as easily shrank away from,” our review concluded.
