Yeah Yeah Yeahs‘ ‘Sacrilege‘ promo won two prizes at the sixth annual UK Video Music Awards which were held in London yesterday (October 28th).
The New York band and their directors Megaforce triumphed in the Best International Rock/Indie Video and Best Editing categories, while respected filmmaker Dick Carruthers won Best Live Coverage for his work on Led Zeppelin‘s 2012 DVD ‘Celebration Day‘.
“In a year where some pop videos have courted notoriety, this year’s UK Music Video Awards has highlighted the true range of creativity that can come out of the process of adding visuals to music,” the awards’ editorial director David Knight has said.
“But it was also wonderful to bestow our Icon Award on Julien Temple, a director who was courting controversy with his work over 30 years ago with the Sex Pistols, and is still adding to the language of music and film today.”
