James Blake has begun a rescheduled tour of North America which will now stretch further into November to allow the songwriter to be back in London for next week’s Mercury Prize ceremony.
Blake opened the run of gigs at the Treasure Island Music Festival yesterday (October 20th), and starts his headline dates on October 22nd in Los Angeles. After a concert in Phoenix on the 25th, and with his second album ‘Overgrown‘ nominated, he then returns to the UK in time for the Mercury Prize’s ceremony on October 30th.
“Due to being nominated (and therefore having to attend) the Mercury Music Awards in London I’m afraid we’ve had to postpone the following gigs from the Oct/Nov US Tour,” Blake explained last month. “The dates will be rescheduled for early next year, sincere apologies to those who bought tickets. Refunds are available and existing tickets are valid for the rescheduled dates TBA.”
The tour resumes with two gigs at the 9:30 Club in Washington on November 2nd and 3rd.
