The Shane Meadows-directed video for Jake Bugg‘s latest ‘Shangri-La‘ taster ‘Slumville Sunrise‘ has been unveiled – as have the Nottingham songwriter’s first UK tour dates for 2014.
Bugg adopts the role of a jewellery thief in the promo, which has been described to NME by Meadows thus: “The video is basically a chase. A character, played by Jake, steals a ring from a jeweller’s and a pursuit begins, the chasing party increases in size and becomes more and more bizarre as the chase and song go on.”
“We wanted to pick the most awful tracksuit we could find – something he just wouldn’t want to wear.”
Meanwhile, Jake Bugg has four February 2014 UK dates now confirmed, which will arrive at the Newcastle City Hall on the 16th, London’s Royal Albert Hall on the 21st, Edinburgh’s Corn Exchange (22nd) and the Manchester Ritz (23rd).
His second studio album, the follow-up to last year’s self-titled debut, is set for release on November 18th.
