HMV will give away free vinyl records from The Beatles, Elvis Presley, New Order and others next week after returning to its spiritual Oxford Street home.

In September, a new flagship HMV shop opened on Oxford Street on the same site which the music chain called home from 1921 until it moved over the road in 2000. The ‘new’ location is where The Beatles recorded a demo tape which eventually led to their big EMI break and a life-changing meeting George Martin.

And to celebrate the move, free vinyl is to be handed out on a first-come-first-serve basis each day next week from 8am. First up will be The Beatles’ ‘Live On Air Volume 2‘ in 7″ promo form, with 100 copies of a limited edition colour pressing of Elvis Presley’s landmark 1956 debut album being made available on Tuesday, October 15th and New Order’s ‘Movement‘ following a day later.

Full details of the campaign can be found over at HMV’s official Facebook page.
