Shane Meadows’ Stone Roses documentary gets DVD release

stoneroseswide1Shane Meadows’ Stone Roses documentary Made Of Stone will come to DVD and Blu-ray next month.

The film, which received its cinematic release in the spring, is out on single-disc DVD and 2-Disc Collectors Blu-ray & DVD Edition from October 21st.

Boxed up with the original documentary film will be several bonus features and extra footage.

“The only thing they didn’t want to do was the classic thing you see in documentaries where someone is sat in front of the mixing desk or a rack of guitars,” Meadows has previously said of his film.

“A lot of films dig for dirt and they’re looking for that. It’s about celebrating this reunion and I was right into that. If people want to dig dirt there are millions of other documentaries like that out there. This was a celebration; it’s as much about the fans as it is about the band coming back.”

Made Of Stone tells the story of the Stone Roses’ massively successful European reunion tour of last year. The Manchester band have continued to perform live during the course of 2013, and are still widely expected to release a brand new studio album.
