‘Now That’s What I Call Music! 85’ becomes UK’s fastest selling album of the year so far

nowThe latest edition of the long-running ‘Now That’s What I Call Music!‘ series has become the fastest selling album of the year so far in the UK after its release last week.

317,000 copies of ‘Now That’s What I Call Music! 85‘ have been sold during the past seven days as the dominance of stand-alone tracks on UK music buying trends continues.

The compilation contains songs such as Daft Punk‘s ‘Get Lucky‘ and Robin Thicke‘s ‘Blurred Lines‘ whose massive sales have put 2013 well on course to become the best year ever for single sales in Britain. In addition, ‘Now That’s What I Call Music 84′, released in March, is already the UK’s biggest selling album of the year.

“The impressive opening sales of Now That’s What I Call Music! 85 underline just how, 30 years on from when it was first launched, the Now! series continues to be as popular as ever,” Martin Talbot of the Official Charts Company remarks.
