Bloc Party headlined the Latitude Festival’s main stage last night (July 19th), bringing to an end the long touring campaign behind their 2012 album ‘Four‘.

Despite suggestions that the group were planning another lengthy hiatus after the Latitude performance, when speaking to NME post-show bass player Gordon Moakes backed up what frontman Kele Okereke had recently told DIY Weekly by insisting the break is nothing more than downtime often taken by bands after a long period on the road.

“I don’t think any of us can really predict the future but we feel like we’re more or less firing on all cylinders,” he said. “It’s been a long journey to get here, to see people are still with us. There’s still a crowd who want to see us play. It’s a nice feeling, to go out after a year of touring.”

Bloc Party followed earlier main stage spots from the likes of The Maccabees, Yo La Tengo, Tim Burgess and I Am Kloot.
