Jake Bugg has premiered the video for his new version of ‘Broken‘, which has been re-recorded with the legendary cross-genre producer Rick Rubin.
‘Broken’ originally featured on Bugg’s 2012 self-titled, UK number one debut album, but has now been re-imagined after the Nottingham songwriter spent time with Rubin in the producer’s own Malibu studio.
“When I first met Rick I wasn’t aware of all he had done and how well renowned he was but I think that helped and so I just cracked on and recorded my tunes,” Bugg remembers. “The whole experience was inspiring. I learnt a lot from Rick. I also got the opportunity to work with some of the best players in the world which has made me become much better as well.”
After spending recording and writing in Nashville and Memphis’ world famous Sun Studios, Bugg is now ready to return to the studio with Rubin later this year to complete work on his second record.
