The Rolling Stones want Adele for Hyde Park concerts

The Rolling Stones are confident of securing Adele as a special guest for their forthcoming appearances in Hyde Park on July 6th and 13th.

The Stones have already employed the services of countless stars from across the musical world during their 50 And Counting anniversary tour and now, according to a source in The Sun, they believe Adele is close to adding her name to the glittering long-list.

“The Stones would love to get Adele on with them,” the source is quoted as saying.

“It would be a massive coup, even for them, because she’s been a bit reclusive since her son Angelo James was born.”

“She is the name they want to announce as their special guest – and their invite should be special enough to get her out on stage. At the minute it’s 50/50 that she’ll do it, but Mick is quietly confident he can pull it off. They want to make the Hyde Park shows a highlight of their tour, and her appearing would make it really special.”

Despite her unbelievable success since the release of ‘21‘ in 2011, Adele has so far avoided any major stadium or festival outings in the UK, and was reported to have turned down an offer from Michael Eavis to headline this year’s Glastonbury.

UPDATE

Meanwhile The Rolling Stones’ official spokesperson denied the rumours and told The Guardian that the answer was “no” when asked if there was any truth in the story. Adele’s publicist, meanwhile, refused to be drawn, saying: “I have no comment on their story.
