Editors have unveiled the new track ‘The Sting‘ which is due to feature as part of the digital bundle for their upcoming single ‘A Ton Of Love‘. It can be heard via Soundcloud below.
The single is to be made available from June 17th, and will be followed by its parent album ‘The Weight Of Your Love‘ on July 1st. Said to portray a new direction for the band following the departure of founding member and guitarist Chris Urbanowicz, ‘The Weight Of Your Love’ was recorded in Nashville with producer Jacquire King at the Blackbird Studios.

Speaking to XFM earlier this year, frontman Tom Smith spoke of how those recording sessions had led to a more ‘rock’ sound when compared to their previous studio effort, 2009’s ‘In This Light and On This Evening‘.
“It’s the last week of recording so we start mixing next week,” he told XFM’s Jon Hillcock. “I think the plan is the album is going to be out very early July. So by the time Reading and Leeds comes around hopefully it’ll be out there, it’ll be public.”
“This ones got a lot of guitars,” he continued. “It’s a rock record. Its a big dumb rock record.”
