Iggy and The Stooges have unveiled the first taste of their new album ‘Ready To Die‘ after uploading ‘Burn‘ to Soundcloud (below).

‘Ready To Die‘ is the follow-up to 2007′s ‘The Weirdness‘, and has been mixed by Ed Cherney, who described the record as, ‘Raw, old-time Stooges’.

On his first engagement with the band since 1973, James Williamson has produced after joining up in the wake of Ron Asheton‘s sad death in 2009.

“My motivation in making any record with the group at this point is no longer personal,” Iggy Pop has said of the album.

“It’s just a pig-headed fucking thing I have that a real fucking group when they’re an older group they also make fucking records,” frontman Iggy Pop said of the album. “They don’t just go and twiddle around on stage to make a bunch of fucking money.”

Recent reports have suggested Williamson manned the production desk in San Francisco’s Fantasy Studios, while Iggy Pop laid down his vocals some distance away in Miami.
