The collaboration between Sir Paul McCartney and former Nirvana bandmates Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic has been premiered online, and can be heard below.

The original track, entitled ‘Cut Me Some Slack‘, will be included on Grohl’s forthcoming Sound City documentary, and was unveiled live last week when the trio performed a version during the 12.12.12 benefit concert in New York. They later aired a second rendition when recently appearing on Saturday Night Live.

The Sound City studios film marks Grohl’s directorial debut, and will be released through the Foo Fighters man’s own Roswell Films. It includes interviews with a host of musicians and producers who have worked in the iconic Los Angeles venue since it first opened its doors in 1969.

Dave Grohl himself has worked briefly withe the Foo Fighters in Sound City, and more famously played a part in the recording of Nirvana’s landmark second album ‘Nevermind‘ there in 1991. Grohl and Novoselic, along with ‘Nevermind’s producer Butch Vig, were back in the studios during the documentary’s filming process.

Many other classic albums have been laid down in Sound City, including Fleetwood Mac‘s ‘Rumours‘ and Neil Young‘s ‘After The Gold Rush‘.
