Palma Violets, Tom Odell and Savages are among the acts confirmed on the 2013 BBC Sound Of… longlist.
Palma Violets have become the latest NME darlings during the past few months after a series of single releases and recently made their television debut on Later…with Jools Holland, while Tom Odell is also in the running for the Brit Awards’ Critics’ Choice prize, which will be announced later this month.
The initial list will be whittled down to five in January, with an overall winner being unveiled soon after.
The BBC Sound Of poll is compiled by a selection of music industry experts and bosses, and named Michael Kiwanuka as its pick for 2012 back in January. Kiwanuka went on to release his debut album ‘Home Again‘ in March, which peaked at #4 on the UK charts.Other past winners include Adele and Keane.
