Keith Richards discusses ‘loving and loathing’ Mick Jagger

rollingstonessqKeith Richards has been reflecting on his famously volatile relationship with Mick Jagger, and has described how emotions range from ‘loving’ and ‘loathing’ between the long-time bandmates.

“You’ve got two very volatile guys who’ve been through a whole lot of stuff in their life and still somehow manage,” Richards has told Esquire.

“Sometimes I despise the man, others, I love that man so much. It’s like your brother. I never had one, so he’s my brother. That’s the way it is, bless his heart.”

Having completed the short London leg of their 50th anniversary tour last week, the Stones are due to perform in New York and New Jersey later this month, with more live duties widely expected to be confirmed for 2013.

“What is there in life? There’s the air you breathe and the food you eat and then there’s The Rolling Stones,” Richards continued on his band. “They’ve just been there forever, for them, from their point of view. The world wouldn’t be complete without The Rolling Stones!”
