Welsh band the Stereophonics will play five UK gigs at the end of this year.
The shows begin at the Newport Centre on December 15th, with gigs then booked at the Manchester Academy (16), Glasgow O2 Academy (17) and Birmingham O2 Academy (19). A final date is due on December 20th at the London Troxy.
With Stereophonics said to be planning two album releases within the next year or so- the first of which will arrive in early 2013 – a first taste of new material, ‘Violins and Tambourines‘, was unveiled earlier this month in the form of a mini-film directed by the band’s frontman Kelly Jones.
“I’ve loved film and music ever since I was a kid,” he said. “When I first started writing songs I realised they could paint pictures in your mind, which inevitably leads to telling stories. I’ve always wanted to combine them both.”
