In the face of commercial struggles for many other guitar bands during the past few years, The Vaccines have today made another step up the mainstream ladder by confirming the biggest headline gig of their career so far.

The band will perform at the 20,000 capacity O2 Arena in London on May 2nd – just three years on from their formation. Tickets will go on general sale from September 21st, priced at £26.

Last week, The Vaccines’ second LP ‘The Vaccines Come Of Age‘ debuted at number one on the UK Album Chart, cementing a rapid rise to success for the London band since they formed in 2010. By the summer of that year, debut single ‘If You Wanna‘ had already received significant support from DJ Zane Lowe, while the resultant ‘What Did You Expect From The Vaccines?‘ album would go on to become one of the UK’s biggest selling debuts of 2011.
