The Vaccines are on course for their first UK number one album according to the midweek chart.

The latest figures have the London band 5,000 units ahead of their nearest rivals Two Door Cinema Club thanks to their second record ‘The Vaccines Come Of Age‘. If the sales hold strong, it would hand The Vaccines their maiden chart-topper in Britain, after last year’s ‘What Did You Expect From The Vaccines?‘ peaked at #4 on its way to becoming one of the biggest selling debuts of 2011.

Elsewhere, former Dire Straits man Mark Knopfler is heading for a Top 10 place with his ‘Privateering‘ LP, while Of Monsters And Men‘s ‘My Head Is An Animal‘ is just hanging on to a place inside the Top 10.
