The Killers covered Oasis‘ 1996 single ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger‘ last night (August 18th) during their headline appearance at the Staffordshire leg of this weekend’s V Festival, as Noel Gallagher himself treated fans to his own version of the classic track over at the event’s sister-site in Essex.

The Killers’ headline V gig marked their major live return on UK shores after a warm-up show in Leeds earlier in the week, and included a selection of tracks due to feature on the Las Vegas band’s forthcoming ‘Battle Born‘ album.

Midway through the set, frontman Brandon Flowers told the crowd they were going to ‘pay tribute to one of the UK’s finest’ before launching into ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’, and later rounded off their performance with ‘When You Were Young‘.

Meanwhile, The Stone Roses and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds closed out the Essex line-up, with the two bills now swapping sites for the final day.
