Reading festival organiser: The Black Keys are future headliners

blackkeysReading/Leeds festival organiser Melvin Benn has said he believes the three bands which are due to play immediately before the headliners during the event’s weekend schedule later this month are all capable of making the big step up in the future.

Speaking to BBC Radio 1, Benn earmarked Paramore, who will play before The Cure, Florence & The Machine, who are set to back Kasabian, and The Black Keys, who will act as chief support for the Foo Fighters, as future Reading/Leeds headliners.

“Paramore, Florence, The Black Keys – you are seeing future headliners,” he has said. “No question in my view. The act that plays before the headliner will get a similar expectation from the audience.”

Along with the main stage headliners, bands including The Maccabees, At The Drive-In, Sleigh Bells and The View are also booked to top bills across the various stages of the twin festivals, which take place this year over the weekend of August 24th-26th.
