Paul Weller has said he would ‘love’ to work with Damon Albarn after admitting the Blur frontman’s ‘Dr Dee‘ opera has been one of the few recent albums to move him in any way.

Quoted in today’s Daily Star tabloid, Weller has said that while he is still buying plenty of records, there is nothing much appealing to him at the moment.

“I’m still going out and buying records, but nothing’s blown me away – although I though Dr Dee was fantastic,” Weller has said.

“I’d love to work with Damon, I’m up for working with anyone if they’ve got something creative going on.”

Weller also reserved some praise for Liverpool songwriter Miles Kane and Michael Kiwanuka – who finished top of the BBC’s annual Sound Of… poll earlier this year.

“Miles’ new record sounds great,” Weller continued. “He’s got some great tunes that boy. So has Michael Kiwanuka – the kid has a lovely voice.”
