Foo Fighters‘ headline appearance at this week’s Tennent’s Vital festival in Belfast caused windows to shake over a mile away, according to one local resident.

BBC News reports resident Eileen Fee as saying the concert in Osborne Park made her windows shake, while fellow local Grainne McGarvey has said: “I pretty much heard every ooh and ah and beat of the drum. I was actually offered a ticket for the concert but I turned it down as I’m not a big fan of the Foo Fighters but I still managed to hear the entire thing.”

With the volume of rock concerts held in city parks being put under the microscope this year after big Hyde Park gigs were threatened with restrictions should new agreements over size and sonic levels not be adhered to, Belfast councillor Claire Hanna has discussed the latest round of complaints, remarking:

“It was exceptionally loud. I welcome that we have concerts of this level but we do have to balance it with the right of people to enjoy a quiet night at home. Most residents understand that people want to enjoy a night out but a second night at the same level might provoke a few more calls.”

The stipulations at Hyde Park which were drawn up in February led to organisers cutting short Bruce Springsteen‘s headline appearance at the Hard Rock Calling event last month not long before The Boss was due to wrap up his set.
