Eight children of the various members of The Beach Boys past and present have formed their own tribute band to the legendary US group.

California Saga have been dubbed as ‘the next chapter in the story of America’s band’, and comprises eight Beach Boys offspring – Al Jardine‘s sons Adam and Matt, Brian Wilson‘s daughters Carnie and Wendy, Mike Love‘s children Ambha and Christian, and Justyn and Carl B, sons of Carl and Dennis Wilson – as well as the late Carl Wilson’s brother-in-law Billy Hinsche.

“We’re not just getting up there because we’re the children of…,” Adam Jardine has told the Ventura County Star. “We’re celebrating these songs that we love.”

“The songs that we’re doing are so fucking beautiful, and so stunning, and the harmonies are so complex that it’s taking an enormous amount of effort to make them just right,” Carnie Wilson has added. “It’s gruelling and it’s tedious, but it’s worth it.”

California Saga have already opened for The Beach Boys back in June, and are said to be focusing on lesser known material from the band’s long back catalogue.
