Paul Weller‘s proposed headline set at the Live From Jodrell Bank festival in Cheshire was cancelled yesterday (June 24th) due to the recent poor weather conditions.

Heavy rainfall during most of last week caused the site at the Jodrell Bank observatory to be declared unsafe for the public after an inspection by a health and safety adviser, meaning Weller was unable to take to the stage as planned on Sunday evening.

“Due to a month’s rainfall in 24 hours across the North West the site is now unfit to accommodate the show,” event director Jon Drape has said in a statement. “Despite the best efforts of our site crew and subcontractors overnight the main event arena and car parks we are unable to deliver the concert safely.”

The promoters have promised a ‘full face value refund’ for any tickets purchased for Weller’s gig, which will begin in the coming days. Ticket holders are advised to email any further inquiries to [email protected].
