Ringo Starr has sold the rights for a new musical to Paramount with a view to the project being given a movie adaptation.

The former Beatles drummer has once again joined forces with the EurythmicsDave Stewart to write the musical. Entitled Hole In The Fence, it is described as being a ‘coming-of-age tale about a group of kids who start a band in order to escape their humdrum mining town’.

The collaboration between the pair comes after Stewart produced Ringo’s 2008 album ‘Liverpool 8‘, and they are set to act as executive producers on the project along with Pam Williams.

According to Deadline, David Harris is working on a screenplay based around Starr and Stewart’s original concept, with music being supplied by the duo.

Earlier this year, Ringo Starr was interviewed in Los Angeles by comedian-turned-actor Russell Brand as part of the promotion for his sixteenth studio record ‘Ringo 2012‘, which struggled to make an impact on the charts upon its release in January.
