Foo Fighters’ ‘million dollar demos’ emerge online

Previously unheard demos recorded by the Foo Fighters during early sessions for their 2002 album ‘One By One‘ have emerged online, reports Rolling Stone.

The recordings became known as the ‘million dollar demos’ following a remark made by drummer Taylor Hawkins after the unsatisfactory sessions were eventually scrapped by Dave Grohl for a variety of reasons – including Hawkins’ recovery from a near fatal drug overdose.




The sessions took place intermittently at Grohl’s home studio in Virginia and Conway Studios in Los Angeles, but were soon put on hold. When ‘One By One’ did emerge in October 2002, it was met with a warm response from critics and reached the top spot on the UK Album Chart on the back of the strong performance of lead single ‘All My Life‘.
