Kasabian guitarist and songwriter Serge Pizzorno is hoping to capture the energy of their gig which welcomed in 2012 as he throws himself into work on the Leicester band’s fifth record.

Quoted in today’s Daily Star newspaper, Pizzorno reveals how he is aiming to commit the energy of their show at London’s O2 Arena on December 31st 2011 to record when he enters the studio. “I have little ideas, more of a concept, really, and I know how I’d like the next record to sound,” he said.

“It’s early days but I want it to be really exciting. When we played on New Year’s Eve it was incredible. Something happened that night – I want to capture that feeling on a record. I want to let it all out in a burst. It’s a strange way to work but I can’t wait to see what has been flashed into my brain over the last year as it’s all stored somewhere.”

The new album will be the follow-up to 2011’s UK number one ‘Velociraptor!’
