Biffy Clyro frontman Simon Neil has reiterated the band’s intention to release a double album as the follow up to the 2009 commercial breakthrough ‘Only Revolutions‘.

Last October, Neil discussed the idea of a double album with XFM, and has told Q Magazine those plans have now been finalised, with the trio due to head to LA for recording in the near future.

“We’re going to make a double album, so the intention is to do most of the recording in LA and then do more of it elsewhere,” he said.

“We’ll hopefully get it done by April, May and go out and play some shows. The album might come out before summer but it’s likely to be just after that.”

So if all goes smoothly, Biffy Clyro could be ready to showcase their new material when they appear at next June’s Isle Of Wight festival on a bill which will feature the so-called American Trilogy headliners Pearl Jam, Bruce Springsteen and Tom Petty.
