The Jim Jones Revue are amongst the first names on the shortlist for the 2012 London Music Awards, along side the likes of Laura Marling, Arctic Monkeys and PJ Harvey.

The place on the shortlist rounds off a successful 2011 for The Jim Jones Revue, whose second album ‘Burning Your House Down‘, a raucous celebration of retro rock n roll, was released in the US last summer.

Another artist already recognised on the shortlist is PJ Harvey, whose emotionally charged 2011 album ‘Let England Shake‘ has been one of the most critically acclaimed albums of recent years. Back in September, the record handed PJ Harvey her second Mercury Music Prize triumph – the first artist to achieve the feat.

The London Awards celebrate the talent and passion of artists and entertainers and is presented each year to an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to their art form. The shortlist will be announced in June 2012.
